Platelet-rich-plasma (PRP

Dermatological autologous blood therapy for skin tightening ("vampire lift") and to stimulate hair growth

After removal of patient's own blood, this is specially prepared. The resulting platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is then injected into the desired areas. The body's own growth factors, which are high in PRP, activate connective tissue cells (fibroblasts) that stimulate the production of collagen and elastic fibers. In addition, connective tissue stem cells are attracted, which activate tissue regeneration with collagen regeneration. The hyaluronic acid formation increases, it is more moisture stored.

For an effective and long-lasting result, 3 treatments are usually required every 4-8 weeks.

Effects of PRP Therapy

  • Skin tightening, wrinkle smoothing

  • Reduction of dark circles

  • Stimulation of hair growth

  • Faster healing after laser or peeling treatments

  • Accelerating wound healing in chronic wounds

Fields of application of PRP therapy

  • Wrinkles and sagging skin on the face, neck, décolleté and back of the hand ("vampire lift")

  • Acne scars

  • Dark circles

  • Hair loss (alopecia)

  • As part of laser or peeling treatments - the PRP causes pain relief, anti-inflammatory and accelerated wound healing

Combination with hyaluronic acid - "Cellular Matrix Gel"

A new process can achieve even better results. Here, the PRP is mixed with 2 ml of uncrosslinked hyaluronic acid. So the skin is supplied with a very high amount of moisture and nutrients. In addition, the platelets and the growth factors remain at the injection site for a long time (prolonged duration of action).

How is the therapy going?

First, about 10 ml of blood is withdrawn from the patient's arm vein in a special tube and then centrifuged. The red blood cells and other disturbing blood components are filtered out. Finally, the resulting platelet-rich and activated blood plasma is injected into the skin. Alternatively, it can be applied to the skin and incorporated into the skin by means of a micro-needling.

What should be considered before and after a self-blood therapy?

Before the self-blood therapy, no blood thinners should be taken for at least 10 days to avoid bleeding and bruising. After treatment, stronger UV exposures should be avoided for at least 6 weeks.

What complications and side effects can occur?

Redness, bruising and infection at the injection sites

When should a self-blood therapy not be carried out?

  • Autoimmune diseases

  • Haemophilia ("hemophiliacs")

  • Taking medication: Vitamin A, antibiotics, blood thinners

  • Acute and chronic infections

  • Acute cardiovascular problems

  • Pregnancy and breast feeding period
